A story told across three generations, Y Vân: The Lost Sounds of Saigon brings to life the golden age of Saigon and uncovers a timeless tale of love, music and family.
Director’s Bio – Khoa Ha
Khoa is a multifaceted artist whose creative journey spans continents, cultures and disciplines. Born and raised in Vietnam, she embarked on a transformative chapter by moving to California with her family in 2011, carving out homes in both Saigon and Los Angeles. Drawing from her rich heritage and experiences, Khoa’s career flourished in the Los Angeles, where she honed her graphic design and art director skills at top agencies before founding her own creative agency. As a director, she leads impactful projects and campaigns, recognized by prestigious awards, weaving her unique perspective as an immigrant and artist into each compelling narrative and project.
Director’s Bio – Victor Velle
Victor is always working to capture the truth of what binds and connects all humans. Born in France, raised in Los Angeles by a family of filmmakers, he’s been immersed in the industry his whole life. His edge is the ability to capture intimate personal stories and elevate them to resonate deeply with any audience. He won “Best Director” at Atlanta Shortsfest 2023, and his 2 most recent feature documentaries have garnered over 30 festival selections, 5 of which earned finalist selections and 5 of which were awarded a win.
